An unusual George III table bearing a circular top crossbanded with yew wood. The tabletop, a most unique feature, is bound in brass and decorated with an elaborate multiple-star motif inlaid with satinwood and laurel. The design encircles a round yew wood medallion. A hexagonal baluster-shaped pillar inlaid with ebonized stringing supports the piece. Its short, curved legs are similarly inlaid and taper to brass lion paw toes and casters.
